Two Shot, One Fatally, In Humboldt Park Area
CHICAGO (STMW) - Two men were shot -- one fatally -- in the Humboldt Park area early Saturday, police said.
About 1:30 a.m., the two men, were standing on the sidewalk on the 3600 block of West Chicago Avenue when a light-colored vehicle drove by, a report from police News Affairs said.
Someone inside the car opened fire, striking a 23-year-old man in the abdomen and another man in the chest, the report said.
The 23-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, the report said. The other man, 28-year-old Stanley Washington, of the 7500of South Peoria St., was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No one was in custody early Saturday. Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
