The victims were standing outside with several other people at 2:13 a.m. after a party in the 4300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, police said. Shots were fired by an unknown individual in a possible drive-by shooting.
The 22-year-old man was shot in the back and taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. A 28-year-old man was shot in the ankle and taken in "stable" condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
No one is in custody and Central Area detectives are investigating.
