Two Men Wounded In West Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were wounded -- one critically -- in a Saturday night shooting on the West Side.

The men were shot about 10:30 p.m. in the 300 block of South Cicero Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.

The men were sitting in a vehicle waiting for the driver to return from a nearby store, according to Harrison District police. The driver heard shots, saw the two men in the vehicle were shot and drove them to Rush University Medical Center.

One man was in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest and the other was in "stable" condition after being shot multiple times, police said. The men were transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. Their ages were not immediately available.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
