Two Men Shot, Including One In Chest, In Woodlawn

CHICAGO (STMW) - One man is dead and another injured after being shot in the Woodlawn neighborhood Tuesday night on the South Side.
The shooting happened at 8:27 p.m. in the 6600 block of South Stony Island Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.
Few details about the shooting were available late Tuesday, but a 23-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. That man was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:20 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, which was not releasing his name.
A 51-year-old man was also wounded in the incident, O'Brien said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the "right side."
Calumet Area detectives are investigating.
