Two Men Shot In Jeep On North Avenue
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were shot while traveling inside a Jeep on North Avenue Friday afternoon on the West Side.
About 5 p.m. at 5859 W. North Ave., the victims were inside a red Jeep of an unidentified model traveling east when another Jeep pulled up next to them and someone inside shouted something and opened fire, according to Grand Central District police Lt. Robert Kero.
One man in the red Jeep was struck in the right bicep and taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park and the other was hit twice in his back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Both were in "stable" condition, according to the lieutenant.
The shooter's vehicle, a light colored Jeep Cherokee with temporary plates that was also eastbound, fled and no one was in custody Saturday as of 10:45 a.m.
Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
