Two Men Charged With Stealing Boats From Oswego Fishing Club
YORKVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- Two west suburban Aurora men were taken into custody this week in connection with the theft of six boats that happened last year.
Thomas Richards, 59, and Jerry Richards, 65, both of the 500 block of South Loucks Street, Aurora, were charged with six counts each of theft, Class A misdemeanors, the Kendall County Sheriff's Department said Wednesday.
The theft of a boat was reported in the morning of Nov. 29, 2012, at the Barber Greene Hunting and Fishing Club in the 6000 block of Route 71, Oswego, the Sheriff's Department said.
The victim said his boat was taken from the club in August 2012, making it the sixth boat reported stolen from the club that month.
Kendall County detectives began an investigation, and a warrant was issued for the Richardses' arrest in January, the sheriff's office said.
They were taken into custody Tuesday, the Sheriff's Department said.
Both are being held at the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville.
