Two Killed In I-80 Motorcycle Crash
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man and a woman, riding together on a speeding motorcycle, were killed Monday when their motorcycle slammed into the back of a semi truck on Interstate 80 near Mokena.
The 32-year-old Bensenville man and 23-year-old Lisle woman both died at the scene after the 2:02 a.m. crash, said Sgt. R.A. Caves of the Illinois State Police, District Joliet.
The pair was traveling at a high rate of speed in the westbound lanes of the interstate when their motorcycle struck the back of the semi near Wolf Road, state police said.
The crash caused a shut down of the interstate, but as of 5:38 a.m. car travel had resumed, Caves said.
