Two Injured -- One Critically -- In NW Side Fire
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two people were injured -- one critically -- in a fire in the Northwest Side Irving neighborhood Saturday afternoon.
The fire took place about 1 p.m. at 3118 W. Montrose Ave., according to Fire Media Affairs Chief Joe Roccasalva.
The still-alarm fire was quickly extinguished, Roccasalva said, but two people were hospitalized. A 52-year-old man was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and a 50-year-old woman was taken in serious condition to Illinois Masonic.
The building at 3118 W. Montrose Ave. is a two-story structure with what appear to be businesses on the first floor and apartments on the second, according to an online map.
The fire is under investigation.
