Two Injured In Separate Northwest Side Hit-And-Run Accidents
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two people were injured during separate hit-and-run crashes on the Northwest Side Tuesday evening, police said.
Police said the two collisions occurred within 90 minutes of each other on West Fullerton Avenue.
The most recent hit-and-run occurred in the Logan Square neighborhood when a black pickup truck struck a 17-year-old girl as she crossed the roadway near North Lawndale Avenue about 7:30 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The teenager was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The truck was last seen driving southbound on North Lawndale Avenue, Greer said.
No one was in police custody, she said.
Earlier, a man in his 30s was struck by a red car about 6:05 p.m. near West Fullerton and North Leclaire Avenues in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, Greer said.
The man was taken in serious condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, she said.
Charges are pending against the driver of the red car, who turned himself in several hours later, Greer said.
