Two Injured After Vehicle Crashes Into Brainerd Corner Store
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A motorist and her passenger were injured when the vehicle she was driving crashed into a corner store Saturday afternoon in the Brainerd neighborhood on the South Side.
A 43-year-old woman was driving a 2002 GMC vehicle and attempted to make a left turn at the intersection of West 91st Street and South Ashland Avenue at 2:44 p.m., Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the building, crashing into a family market corner store.
The driver and her passenger were injured in the crash, Alfaro said.
There were no other injuries. One person was taken in serious condition and another with minor injuries to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Center in Evergreen Park, according to Fire Media Affairs. Gender and ages of the victims was not immediately available.
The driver, Theresa Wright, of the 5400 block of South Carpenter Street, was cited for an improper left turn and speeding.
