Two Hurt In Early Morning Crash In The Loop

CHICAGO (CBS) -- At least two people were injured, one of them seriously, early Sunday when two cars collided at a Loop intersection.
A car heading east on Washington Street at a high rate of speed ran a red light at Dearborn Street at about 5 a.m. and was hit on the passenger's side by a Lincoln Town Car traveling north on Dearborn Street.
Both cars then hit a metal pylon in the sidewalk outside the CBS 2 news studio at 22 W. Washington St.
The driver of the Town Car had to be rescued using a Jaws of Life device.
According to the Chicago Fire Department, two people were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, one in good condition, the other in serious to critical condition.
Further details were not available Sunday morning.
