Two Held After West Side Police Chase
CHICAGO (STMW) - Two men are in custody after a police chase and crash Wednesday morning on the West Side.
The incident unfolded after Harrison District officers conducting a traffic stop in the 2300 block of West Warren Boulevard heard gunfire about 11 a.m., police News Affairs Offer Veejay Zala said.
Police spotted the shooters, and one officer fired at the suspects but did not hit them, Zala said. The suspects fled into a vehicle and drove off.
Officers chased after them, but pursuit came to a halt in the 100 block of North Campbell Avenue when the suspects' vehicle crashed into a parked car, Zala said. One man in that vehicle was injured and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition.
The two suspects were taken into custody and a weapon was recovered, Zala said. Charges are pending Wednesday night.
