Two Cops Injured While Chasing Suspect
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two Chicago Police officers were injured when they fell down stairs chasing a suspect, who was eventually caught, Tuesday evening in the South Side Hamilton Park neighborhood.
The officers were injured at the 7500 block of S. Stewart Ave. about 7:20 p.m., Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said. The officers were chasing a suspect when they fell down the stairs.
One of the officers suffered an arm injury and another suffered a minor hand injury, Langford said. The most seriously injured suffered either a broken or severely bent arm, he said.
Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment. One was listed in serious condition, while the other was in good condition, Langford said.
The suspect the man was chasing was taken into custody, authorities said.
Police could not immediately provide further details.
