Two Chicago Men Charged In June 2012 Murder In Oak Park
MAYWOOD, Ill. (STMW) -- Two Chicago men were ordered held without bond Wednesday for the fatal shooting of a man last summer in west suburban Oak Park.
Tjuan English, 22, of the 5900 block of West Walton Street; and Leon Robinson, 30, of the 4900 block of West Walton, were each charged with one count of first-degree murder, according to Oak Park police.
They are accused of the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Ramen S. Griffin in the 700 block of North Austin Boulevard in Oak Park about 6:30 a.m. on June 16, 2012, according to a statement from police.
Responding officers found Griffin, of the 600 block of North Austin, lying on the Oak Park side of the street with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Paramedics determined he was dead on the scene and an autopsy performed by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office ruled the death a homicide.
Police said English fired as many as 12 shots from a 9 mm handgun, while Robinson "aided" English in his plan to shoot Griffin in retaliation for an earlier altercation between the two men.
Both are being held without bond in the Cook County Jail.
