AURORA, Ill. (STMW) -- Two Joliet brothers have been charged with the murder of a man inside a restaurant in west suburban Aurora Monday night.
Jaquan D. Hosey-Green, 19, and his 18-year-old brother, Dimitri J. Hosey-Green, both of the 1200 block of Fairfield in Joliet, are each charged with one count of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Arin T. Williams, Aurora police said in a statement.
Bail for Dimitri Hosey-Green was set at $1.5 million Thursday morning, while bail for Jaquan Hosey-Green was set at $1 million.
The two brothers, under the guise of buying drugs from Williams, accompanied him to the La Torta Carniceria y Taqueria restaurant in the 800 block of Lake Street a few minutes before 8 p.m. Monday, police said.
When the three men went into a restroom, the brothers beat Williams and tried to rob him, police said. During the fight, Dimitri Hosey-Green allegedly fired a shot into Williams' head.
William, of the 1800 block of Carnation Court in Aurora, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Presence-Mercy Medical Center, police said.
The brothers ran from the scene after the shooting, across Lake Street to a relative's apartment, where they hid evidence of the murder, police said. A family member then drove them to Joliet.
Witnesses told police which direction the men ran in after the murder, and officers learned they were spotted in the apartment complex. Police were able to recover "numerous piece of evidence the suspects tried to hide," the statement said.
The brothers were found in Cicero and taken into custody Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The next court date for the duo is Jan. 24 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
