TSA: Don't Opt Out Of Body Scanning
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The TSA warns that the proposed protest at airports Wednesday of those body scanners will affect travel.
Officials say a body scan can take up to 10 seconds, while a pat-down can take four minutes.
Passenger Candice Cain says dealing with a full-body scan in Philadelphia almost made her miss her flight to O'Hare International Airport on Monday.
"I did feel like it was a little bit of an invasion of my privacy, just because you can see," she told CBS 2's Pamela Jones. "It's like a strip search, pretty much."
Complaints have pushed the TSA to take another look at aggressive screening measures. The review couldn't happen fast enough for people like Sandra Murdick. She says her knee replacement set off alarms. But then a pat down meant she had to strip, too.
A Michigan bladder cancer survivor says he ended up splashed with urine after a pat down.
It's why some travelers at O'Hare support a security review.
Kathy Jaeger says she went through X-rays three times Monday.
"I think they should take another look at it," she said. "There's got to be something else they can do besides the nakedness thing."
