Entire 89th Floor Of Trump Tower Listed For $32 Million--Most Expensive In Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) -- In what is reportedly the most expensive real estate listing in Chicagoland, the entire 89th floor of the Trump Tower has gone on the market for an astonishing $32 million.
It's billed as "the highest residence in the Western Hemisphere." The 14,260-square-foot space is unfinished--photos show it still needs flooring and doors--allowing the owner to "build out the unit to their specifications," according to the unit's listing information.
The five bedroom, eight bathroom layout offers panoramic views of the city and Lake Michigan with 16-foot-tall floor-to-ceiling windows.
Ian Spula with Curbed Chicago reports that it is by far the most expensive listing within the city limits. A home in Lincoln Park is selling for $10.9 million.
The only comparable listing right now in the entire area is Michael Jordan's sprawling 56,000-square-foot estate in Highland Park, which is listed for $29 million. (That includes a full indoor basketball court and gym.)
The living room at Trump is the size of some small homes at 1,296 square feet. The master bedroom is not far behind at 1,122 square feet, according to the listing information. It also comes with five fireplaces, a massive exercise room (also the size of a small home), a media room, study and laundry room.
Property taxes are listed at "TBD", and the buyer will have to budget for a $12,150 monthly condo association fee. (While not exactly comparable, Jordan paid $165,489.91 in property taxes for his Highland Park home up in Lake County.)
And, if you can afford to buy it, you can also claim Bulls superstar Derrick Rose as a neighbor. He bought a three-bedroom condo five floors below for a reported $2.8 million. The Blackhawks' Patrick Kane also has a unit at Trump.
