Triplets Celebrate Their First Birthday By Thanking Suburban Hospital
(CBS) -- Triplets from west suburban Berkeley went back to the hospital where they were born to celebrate another milestone: their birthday.
Finn, Ava and Kyle Santiago were actually born on Dec. 6, but keeping in character as preemies, they celebrated early.
They ate cupcakes while their parents, Heather and Brandon, talked to reporters about how grateful they are for the care they received and to say thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
The triplets did so well that they were able to go home from the hospital on Christmas Eve last year.
Heather says now that the babies can hold their own bottles, life is getting easier.
The Santiagos also have a four-year-old son named Liam.
They delivered gift bags to the families in the NICU, since they know what it's like to be there for a while.
