Trestman: OT Field Goal Try Was 'In Best Interest Of Team'
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Bears coach Marc Trestman on Monday said his decision to have Robbie Gould attempt a winning field goal on second down in overtime was "in the best interest of the team at the time."

The Bears had two more downs to work with, but Trestman elected to kick it on second down, instead of trying to get closer.
"There were a lot of unique penalties happening in that game," said Trestman, who didn't want to risk another misstep that could have put the team outside of field goal range.
One would expect Gould — who had a chance Sunday to become the most accurate kicker in NFL history — to make a 47-yard field goal indoors.
"Robbie's miss didn't lose the game, we had a number of opportunities to win," Trestman told WBBM Newradio's Josh Liss on Monday.
"I am extremely disappointed for our football team and our fans," Trestman said. "It was a game we had an opportunity to win and we didn't get it done."
As for the status of injured quarterback Jay Cutler, Trestman said he was still "week to week," and the team will evaluate his progress before deciding on is playing status on Monday night against Dallas.
