Trestman: Fuller's Broken Hand Likely A 'Non-Surgical Issue'
(CBS) Bears rookie cornerback Kyle Fuller's broken right hand is a "non-surgical issue," Chicago coach Marc Trestman said Monday afternoon, but that doesn't necessarily mean Fuller will be ready to play next Sunday.
Fuller also suffered a right hip pointer in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, and Trestman sounded more concerned about that injury. Fuller left in the third quarter and didn't return.
Trestman called Fuller's injury situation "day-to-day."
"He went out of the game because of his hip more than his hand," Trestman said. "So we'll see where he's at. He said he felt good today. He'll be day-to-day. I don't know that the hand will deter him.
"Up to this point today, I've heard it to be a non-surgical issue."
Fuller has been arguably Chicago's best defensive player, as his three interceptions and three forced fumbles are tied for the NFL lead in each category. He took over the No. 2 cornerback spot after Charles Tillman suffered a season-ending triceps injury in Week 2.
Sherrick McManis filled in Sunday after Fuller left the game.
