Crews Stop Train Fuel Leak On Southwest Side
Updated 12/18/10 - 11:53 a.m. CHICAGO (CBS) -- Emergency crews have stopped a fuel leak from a train car at a Southwest Side rail yard Saturday morning.
A Level One Hazmat response was called at 10:30 a.m. for a fuel leak in the 7100 block of South Cicero Avenue, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
The leak was secured by 11:35 a.m. with no injuries.
A fire department official said the leak was coming from a freight train car that contains fuel for the locomotive, not from a tanker car.
