Trade Patrick Kane? Not So Fast
(WSCR) After the team's ninth straight loss, Blackhawks fans are ready to throw just about anybody under the bus to right this sinking ship.
One hockey expert, however, argues that talks of trading Patrick Kane are ill-advised.
"I don't know if you're in a rush to trade that player unless you hit an unbelievable home run that brings you at least three components back," Pierre McGuire of NBC Sports told The Mully and Hanley Show. "I'm talking about a top-line defenseman, potentially a goalie and maybe a prospect, but you're not in the rush to trade the No. 1 overall pick, especially a kid that's under 23 years of age. You just gotta take your time and sort it all out."

McGuire said mentally, Kane has matured greatly, but his game is still struggling.
"Patrick is not having a great year," he said. "I think he'd be the first person to tell you that. I can tell you this, when the season started, I was blown away by what Patrick Kane told me. I met him in New Jersey and the maturity that I heard in his voice before the season started compared to years past was totally different, totally, totally different. His conditioning levels were higher. He was more mature, more focused, more understanding of what his role was. ... I don't know where it went off the rails, but he just hasn't played at the level he's capable of."
