Toyota Undertaking Image Repair
CHICAGO (WBBM/CBS) -- Now that the U.S. Department of Transportation has absolved Toyota of any problems with the electronic throttle control in its cars, the automaker is undertaking image repair.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Bob Roberts reports from the Chicago Auto Show, Toyota Group vice president Bob Carter never doubted the outcome of the Transportation Department investigation.

"There was really no concern on our part that there was going to be anything but validation found," Carter said.
But lawsuits must still be heard, and some potential customers remain less than convinced.
Carter hopes to lure the skeptical back in Toyota showrooms with new cars.
"The Toyota division is going to be launching seven new products this year, and we have a tremendous amount of new products in our pipeline," Carter said. "That's really what drives this business."
Also, much to the dismay of many of its competitors, Toyota is ramping up incentives. Ads will appear in a few days, but Toyota is already offering 0 percent financing on the Camry, and low lease rates.
