Torres To Appeal 25-Game Suspension For Hossa Hit
(CBS) Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres and the NHLPA will appeal the 25-game suspension he received for his hit that knocked Marian Hossa out of the playoffs.
Torres' 25-game suspension was the second-long suspension in the history of the NHL behind just Chris Simon's 30-game suspension in 2007.
Subsequent reports indicate Torres will not appeal the fact that he was suspended, simply that the suspension was "excessive."
