Top Films The 'Hollywood Film Awards' Should Honor
With so many new award-worthy films coming out this fall and winter, the "Hollywood Film Awards" may find it a little difficult picking just one honor.
The "Hollywood Film Awards," which honor excellence in the art of cinema, are set to air on Friday, Nov. 14 at 8:00PM ET/PT delayed, and part of the ceremony is picking films to honor in different categories.
This year is no different from any other with films taking us from childhood to outer space. The "Hollywood Film Awards" definitely have their work cut out for them and ultimately make the decision, but here’s a look at the films we think have a chance of taking home big honors at this year’s show.
Birdman- A surreal portrait of a washed-up actor attempting to make a comeback, this film may be a perfect balance between dark comedy and drama. And word on the street is that Michael Keaton, Emma Stone and Edward Norton are simply amazing.

Interstellar- Christopher Nolan may have left behind the Batman trilogy, but in its place he’s taking his audiences to the outer edges of the universe with a film that asks what humans will do when we can no longer survive on this planet.

Foxcatcher- Part true story and part psychological thriller, “Foxcatcher” tells the story of Olympic wrestling gold medal-winning brothers and the tragic ending to their relationship with a mult-millionaire.

Gone Girl- Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, “Gone Girl” is a thriller that is excellently executed from the ambience of its soundtrack to the acting chops of its leading lady Rosamund Pike. Throwing in past Hollywood Film Award winner Ben Affleck doesn’t hurt either.

The Theory of Everything- Attempting to make science romantic, “The Theory of Everything” tells the true love story of physics genius Stephen Hawking and his wife Jane from their inaugural meeting in college through his diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and beyond.

Boyhood- The film is a coming-of-age film that took 12 years to finish. Why? The film follows the same actors through the years, allowing the audience to watch the film’s characters (and actors) literally age right before their eyes.

Wild-Starring Reese Witherspoon in what many are saying is her best performance yet, “Wild” follows a young woman her struggles with addiction after a broken marriage and her subsequent choice to hike a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. Witherspoon is also on the list of attendees, so may be looking for a win this year.
