Tom Hayden, Anti-War Activist Has Died
CHICAGO (CBS) – Famed 1960's anti-war activist, Tom Hayden died Sunday after a long illness.
Hayden helped organize in 1968, anti-war demonstrations during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, that turned violent and resulted in the notorious Chicago 7 Trial.
Hayden and three other were convicted after a circus-like trial. The convictions were later overturned.
Hayden was later married to actress, Jane Fonda for 17 years. He also served as a state lawmaker in California.
Hayden was 76-years old.
