Toews Placed On Injured Reserve
(CBS) The Blackhawks have placed forward Jonathan Toews on injured reserve with a left arm injury.
The team announced Tuesday it has recalled forward Brandon Pirri from the Rockford IceHogs.
Pirri, 20, has registered two assists in four contests with the Blackhawks this year. He had four goals and five points in four games during the 2011 preseason.
Toews ranks second in the NHL with 27 goals, and second on the Blackhawks with 50 points in 49 games this season.
