JOLIET, Ill. (CBS) -- Bond was set at $250,000 Monday afternoon for a Tinley Park High School teacher and coach who was arrested for having sex with an underage female student.
Ryan Dolan, 29, was arrested Saturday and charged with one count of criminal sexual assault.
During a bond hearing Monday afternoon, Will County prosecutors said he was having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student, who was just weeks away from her 18th birthday.
Dolan, a Tinley Park resident, has been a teacher at Tinley Park High School since 2008. He teaches social studies, and is the head varsity wrestling coach, the head freshman football coach, and a former sophomore softball coach, according to a teacher biography that has since been taken down from the Bremen Community High School District 228 website.
The district is taking steps to have Dolan fired. Both Tinley Park High School's principal and district superintendent sat in on Dolan's bond hearing.
"We have not received an official at this point but certainly he is not going to be coming back on our campus," said Bremen High School District 228 Superintendent Bill Kendall.
Dolan's lawyer told the judge he has no criminal record, "not so much as a parking ticket."
Will County prosecutors say Dolan may be facing additional charges both in and outside of Will County, which may include possessing images of child pornography. They say Dolan and the student met and had sex at least ten times.
The judge said one condition of setting bond at $250,000 was that Dolan not have contact with that student or any student here until the matter is resolved.
Dolan appeared in bond court via video. His attorney and family did not want to comment.
