Tim Tebow Gives Impromptu Pep Talk To Sweet 16-Bound Wichita State
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Even Jets quarterback Tim Tebow has tourney fever.
Tebow hopped aboard Wichita State's team bus on Sunday to deliver an impromptu pep talk after the school's upset over No. 1-ranked Gonzaga in the NCAA Tournament.
"Some of you might go play in the NBA, you might have great lives, but this is the time you'll remember," Tebow told the Shockers. "All of you all together, balling out there together, training together, putting in the heart and the sweat, everything, caring about each other. You'll never forget it guys, this is what it's made of and these are the special times in your life, regardless of what you do in the future."
Tebow's plane was refueling at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport in Kansas as the team arrived one day following their win, according to the Wichita Eagle. A clip of his speech was posted to the website of KSN-TV.
"So I just want to say congrats," said Tebow. "You're an inspiration to so many people, so always remember that and how you carry yourself and your character, how you represent your school, your family, your team, your brothers on the team. But also, man, just go out there and ball out, leave nothing on the court. I know you don't need to hear that from me, but I just wish y'all luck.
"We'll be praying for you. God bless, and y'all go do it. All right, guys?"
Ninth-seeded Wichita State will take on the surprising La Salle Explorers (No. 13) on Thursday in the Sweet 16.
