Tilted Kilt Plans New Location At Fox Valley Mall
AURORA, Ill. (STMW) -- Tilted Kilt, a Celtic-themed sports bar featuring scantily clad female waitstaff, will aim to open a location at Fox Valley Westfield Mall in Aurora by the beginning of November.
The restaurant and pub, known for its tartan miniskirt-clad waitstaff, is one of three liquor license applicants up for approval at City Council Tuesday night. If all three are approved, the city will have 50 Class E restaurant liquor license operators in the city.
JM Bobak Ventures LLC plans to operate a Tilted Kilt restaurant at 1376 Fox Valley Drive. The space formerly served as a Ruby Tuesday's location. The restaurant will be managed by Christopher Zalinski, according to city records.
Zalinski said Monday that the restaurant will have seating for 160 and a patio, slated to open in spring 2014, will add seating for about 50 more.
The restaurant and bar will open at 11 a.m. daily and close at midnight Sunday through Wednesday, at 1 a.m. Thursday and at 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Zalinski said his partners also operate Tilted Kilt locations in Woodridge, Oakbrook Terrace and Bolingbrook.
The other restaurants looking for liquor licenses include AAA Enterprise Group Inc., which aims to operate Tamarind Indian Cuisine, an Indian restaurant and banquet space, near the mall at 4250 Fox Valley Center Drive. Owner Anupama Setty has applied for a Class E restaurant liquor license.
Owner Martin Padilla also aims to sell liquor from his establishment, Jaliscos Tacos Autentico at 110 N. Lake St. Jaliscos Tacos on Lake Street has been in business for about one year.
In 2011, the city changed the liquor ordinance rules, charging aldermen with approving each new liquor license applicant.
Aldermen will vote on the liquor license proposals at 6 p.m. Tuesday night at City Hall, 44 E. Downer Place.
