Tillman, Paea Will Not Play Against Giants

By Adam Hoge-

SOLDIER FIELD (CBS) -- Despite playing through injuries the last four games, Bears cornerback Charles Tillman will not play against the Giants Thursday night.

Defensive tackle Stephen Paea will also miss his second straight game with turf toe.

Tillman has been battling a knee injury since the team's Week 1 win over the Bengals and he has also been hampered by a groin injury suffered in Week 3 against the Steelers. The groin was dropped from the injury report this week, but Tillman was still listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Giants.

With the short week, it appears Tillman did not have enough recovery time to get ready in time for the game. Both and he and Paea now have 10 days to get ready for the Bears next game, Oct. 20 in Washington D.C.

Thursday's game is the first game Tillman has missed since Week 17 of the 2009 season. He had played in 55 straight contests, including the postseason.

With Tillman out, Zack Bowman will take his reps on the field.

The good news for the Bears is that linebacker Lance Briggs (foot/hip) and tight end Martellus Bennett (knee) are active and will play.

Here is the full list of inactives for both teams:
