Tillman Nominated By Bears For NFL's 'Man Of The Year' Award
(WSCR) After earning his second Pro Bowl honor this week, the Bears have named cornerback Charles Tillman the team's nominee for the 2012 Walter Payton NFL "Man of the Year" award.
Tillman also represented the Bears for the award in 2011. Ravens center Matt Birk took home the honors last season.
Created in 1970 but renamed in 1999 for Bears legend Walter Payton, the award recognizes a player's off-the-field community service, support and activities as well as his playing excellence.
The winner will be announced on the eve of Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans.
