Tillman Named NFC Defensive Player Of The Month
(WSCR) For the time being, life is good at Halas Hall.
The NFL announced today Bears cornerback Charles Tillman has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October after helping lead the Bears to a 4-0 record in the month.
Tillman recorded two interceptions, both of which were returned for touchdowns, and held Lions wide out Calvin Johnson to a season-low 34-yards on three catches.
The 31-year old Tillman is the second consecutive Bears player to win Defensive Player of the Month after his counterpart Tim Jennings was honored with the award in September. The duo is the second set of Bears players to win the award in consecutive months after Julius Peppers (November) and Brian Urlacher (December/January) in 2010.
