Three Wounded, Including Two Teens, In Dolton Shooting
(CBS) -- Three people, including two teens, were wounded in a shooting Monday morning in south suburban Dolton.
Three males, ages 12, 17 and 21, were on a street corner near 143nd Street and Woodlawn Avenue when someone fired shots from a gold colored Chrysler 300 and wounded them.
Witnesses told police a man from the car and a bicyclist exchanged words, and both the bicyclist and car pulled away. A short time later, the Chrysler 300 opened fire while travleling north on Woodlawn, hitting the three people.
None of the three people were involved in the exchange between the bicyclist and the man in the car and police believe that they were not the intended targets.
The 12-year-old, Dajun Edwards, was wounded in the right arm and taken to St. Margaret's Hospital in Hammond. CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez reports the boy was later released and was doing fine.
The 21-year-old was shot in both his hand and thigh and taken to St. Margaret's. The 17-year-old was shot in his right thigh and the bullet travelled up his left abdomen. He is being treated at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey.
