Three Shot In South Shore
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men and a woman were shot Tuesday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.
Just after 5 p.m., the men, ages 26 and 27, and the 30-year-old woman were inside a vehicle in the 7600 block of South Stony Island Avenue when someone walked up and opened fire, said police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti, citing preliminary information.
The three were all taken to Jackson Park Hospital, but their conditions were not immediately known, Ursitti added.
Kevin Perry, 26, was one of the men who was shot and later released from the hospital Tuesday evening. A male wearing a black mask ran toward the vehicle and fired seven or eight shots, Perry recalled.
"This is the life of Chicago. Maybe it's the color I am, maybe it's the color I'm wearing or whatever," Perry said. "This is Chicago."
The shooting is thought to be gang-related, a police official said.
The shooting occurred about a mile west from where a 33-year-old man was shot and killed Monday night in the 2300 block of East 75th Street.
No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
