Three Killed, Several Wounded In Chicago Weekend Violence

 (STMW) -- Fifteen people were shot — three fatally — across Chicago in less than 10 hours between Friday night and early Saturday, according to police.

A 29-year-old was shot several times in the head about 4:25 a.m. in the 11600 block of South Torrence in South Deering, police said. Authorities believe the shooting may have occurred during a home invasion and said it may have been "domestic related."

Additional details were not immediately available.

A man was killed and another person wounded in a shooting Saturday morning on the Near North Side, according to police.

About 3:25 a.m., a 32-year-old man was shot in the head and chest in the 800 block of North Cambridge, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A male, whose age and condition were unknown Saturday morning, was shot in the left leg and taken to an area hospital, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner's office did not confirm either death Saturday morning.

Miguel Bahena was walking about 12:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of West Devon Avenue when a male in a gray hoodie and light blue pants began shooting at him, authorities said. He was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:37 a.m.

Bahena lived in the 5600 block of North Campbell Avenue, according to the medical examiner's office.

The most recent nonfatal shooting occurred in the Wicker Park neighborhood.

A 22-year-old woman told investigators she was shot in the 1200 block of North Ashland about 4:30 a.m., police said. She took herself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park with a gunshot wound to her arm. Her condition was not known Saturday morning.

Shortly before 3 a.m., a 29-year-old man was walking in the 100 block of North Leamington shortly before 3 a.m. when someone in a passing vehicle shot him in both legs and the groin area, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition had stabilized.

A 25-year-old man was sitting on a crate in the 1300 block of South Lawndale about 1:30 a.m. when he was shot in both forearms, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition stabilized, police said.

Just after midnight, a 24-year-old man was shot as he drove in the 8100 block of South Kingston, according to police. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the upper left leg, police said.

A 27-year-old was shot in the leg about 11:45 p.m. in the 3400 block of West Ogden in North Lawndale. His condition had stabilized at Mount Sinai Hospital. The man told investigators he was "drinking and smoking all day [and] just woke up in hospital," according to police.

Fifteen minutes earlier, a 17-year-old boy was walking on the sidewalk in the 6300 block of South Cottage Grove when another male walked up and shot him, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his right leg and a graze wound to his back. His condition had stabilized.

About 11:20 p.m., three men were shot in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The men were walking on the sidewalk in the 3800 block of West Diversey when two other males walked up from behind and shot them, police said.

One man, 19, was shot in the neck. Another, 21, was shot in the left arm, police said. Both were taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The third man, 18, was shot in the right shoulder and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. The conditions of all three men had stabilized early Saturday.

A 16-year-old boy was shot in the left side and left hand in the 3800 block of West Augusta in Humboldt Park about 8:30 p.m., according to police. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The weekend's first shooting occurred on the Near West Side.

A 28-year-old got into an argument with a group of males about 7:10 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Western, according to police. As he got into his vehicle, one of the males shot him in the right arm.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.
