Three Killed In Separate Shootings Thursday Morning
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three people were killed in separate shootings on the South Side Thursday morning.
The most recent fatal shooting occurred about 5:20 a.m. in the South Shore neighborhood. Officers found an unresponsive, 41-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle in the 6700 block of South East End Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:07 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
About an hour earlier a few blocks away, a 74-year-old man was also found inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds in the 7000 block of South East End Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead on the scene about 5:08 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
Police said the two fatal shootings on East End did not appear to be related, though the possibility is under investigation.
In the South Side Gage Park neighborhood, a man, 27, was approached and shot after stepping out of a vehicle around 2:50 a.m. in the 5300 block of South Talman Avenue, police said. He fled the scene on foot before collapsing in a nearby alley, where police found him.
He was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 3:56 a.m., the medical examiner's office said.
Nobody is in custody for any of the shootings as Area Central detectives investigate.
