Three Injured In Suburban Crash
CHICAGO (STMW) - Three people -- including a girl -- were injured Saturday afternoon in a three-car crash in south suburban Homewood.
About 2:30 p.m., Homewood fire responded to a three-car crash at the intersection of 176th and Halsted streets, said Homewood Deputy Fire Chief Clint Johnson.
When firefighters arrived, they found a Ford Explorer upside down on top of a BMW sedan and a Dodge Charger, Johnson said.
Three of the 10 people in the three vehicles required hospitalization, Johnson said. The driver of the Ford Explorer was pinned inside the vehicle and was extricated. The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
Two other people from the BMW and the Charger vehicles suffered minor injuries, Johnson said. A woman was taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest. A girl was taken to St. James Hospital and Health Center in Chicago Heights.
The ages of the victims were not immediately available.
The cause of the accident was not known, Johnson said. Homewood police were not available for comment.
