Three Firefighters Injured In Oak Lawn Blaze
OAK LAWN, Ill. (STMW) -- Three firefighters were injured while battling a blaze in a southwest suburban home Tuesday morning.
The Oak Lawn firefighters were treated and released from Advocate Christ Medical Center after one suffered smoke inhalation, another's face was burned and the third injured his back or leg, Oak Lawn village manager Larry Deetjen told the SouthtownStar.
The fire started in the 4900 block of 99th Place about 9:15 a.m., Deetjen said.
The sole occupant of the house escaped unharmed, he said. The house sustained extensive damage and was rendered unlivable.
Fire investigators remained at the scene to determine the cause of the blaze, he said.
