This May Be End of the Road for Yao Ming
Yao Ming missed all 82 games last season with a foot injury. At the time it was announced that he would miss the whole season it was not feared to be a career ending injury. However, in statements made to the Chinese state media on Monday Yao said that he would consider retiring if his foot didn't completely heal.
As detailed in a CBSSports.com article Yao also all but ruled out playing in the 2012 Olympics in London. "The chance is very small," the 7-6 center was quoted as saying by the official Xinhua News Agency. "The foot injury will not allow me to play so many games anymore. Like I said before, I will quit the national team and the sport one day. It's what happens to every athlete."If this is the end Yao Ming's career it will be one the never quite lived up to what was expected of him and one that was cut short by numerous injuries.
