Third Loyola Student Robbed Within A Month
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Even on a college campus you have to watch your back.
There's a new warning for students at Loyola University after the third student robbery in a month.
The latest victim was walking home from the campus commons and noticed two men standing outside the CTA's Loyola stop. They followed her west on Loyola Avenue and at Lakewood Street brandished a handgun.
They demanded her money, but she didn't have any, so they took her cell phone and ran off.
Loyola has long urged students to take precautions. The latest stick-up occurred as Loyola campus police officials are exploring the idea of issuing electronic stun guns to its officers.
Student reaction was mixed to the idea.
