Thibodeau Not Burning Out Bulls

Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is an intense head coach who demands a high level of energy, preparation and defense from his team.

For a while there was a worry that that intensity would burn out the young Bulls, but it appears there's no cause for that worry.

"[I] talked to a lot of players about that, and basically, unanimously, everyone said no." K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "Obviously what we don't see is behind the scenes, when Tom is giving guys days off, or propping guys up, or also building relationships with these players so that when he does demand a lot from them, it's OK because he's worked hard to earn their trust and earn a strong working relationship. That's the kind of stuff that we don't see that goes on behind the scenes.

"The bottom line is that he works them hard, and he demands a lot. He's a heck of a coach and the players all respect him, they all like playing for him and I think that you've seen with this unified message, that he has sent out all season."

And if the players' word isn't enough to prove that Thibodeau isn't burning out the Bulls, their win on Saturday night pulled them into a tie with the Boston Celtics, at the time. After a Celtics win on Sunday, the Bulls now sit just a half-game out of first place.
