Thibodeau Named Coach Of The Month For April
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago Bulls' Tom Thibodeau has been named the Eastern Conference Coach of the Month, for games played in April.
Thibodeau and the Bulls went 8-0 over the month, good for best in the league, and locked up the best record in the NBA's regular season. Among the eight wins included games over Boston, Orlando and New York.
This is the third (January and March) Coach of the Month honor for the rookie head coach who led his team to a 62-20 record.
As the conference's No. 1 seed in the playoffs, the Bulls will take on the Indiana Pacers in the first round. The opening game of that series will take place on Saturday (4/16) at 12:00 p.m.
Nate McMillan, of the Portland Trail Blazers was named the Western Conference Coach of the Month. The Trail Blazers were 5-2 in April, best in the Western Conference, and will take on the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs.
