The 'Thibodeau Brainwash' Has Been Bulls' Strength All Season
CHICAGO (WSCR) The Chicago Bulls went from a 41-41 record to 62 wins and the overall No. 1 seed in the playoffs. But despite the Bulls' success this season, Tom Thibodeau has always seen room for improvement, and his players believe him.
On Sunday night, the Bulls routed the Miami Heat for a 103-82 win in the opening game of the Eastern Conference Finals. But just as can be expected, Thibodeau and his players remain focused solely on improving and preparing for Game 2.
"I went around to every player [after Sunday's game] and the thing that I heard was 'oh, you know, we can play better' or 'we have a lot of things to clean up,'" K. C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "The Thibodeau brainwash is so thorough. I've never seen a team more on message than this team, and I've been covering professional sports for a long time. They literally take what he says and basically spit it back out to us. And they believe it, it's not cliche, it's not just soundbites...And that obviously has been a strength, all season, of this team."
