The Bernstein Brief: What's Wrong With Kevin White?

(CBS) If it's really no big deal, then tell us what the injury is.
Bears general manager Ryan Pace just used his first ever draft pick on a speedy wide receiver, only to take the first minutes of his first training camp press conference to say the guy can't play right now.
What did Kevin White actually do to his shin? Why did he then fall far enough out of cardiovascular shape to need time on the physically-unable-to-perform list to open training camp? Those answers weren't given Wednesday.
While this doesn't mean White will miss any regular-season time, it's not a good start for a raw talent in need of every pro rep he can get. And it's not the questions anybody wanted to be asking on Day 1 as a new era under Pace and John Fox really gets going.
