The Bernstein Brief: Trust In Bears' John Fox Is Now Questionable

(CBS) Acting like Bill Belichick isn't the same unless one wins like he does.
We're well into the John Fox experience as Bears coach now, living with the rigid insularity, the silly media rules, the Soviet-style information control and the demand from players for total buy-in.
Everybody goes along with it because of the implicit trust that it matters, that it leads to something.
Fox has accrued power at Halas Hall to the point that he's now believed by many to be the top football voice in the building, easily already eclipsing first-time general manager Ryan Pace, who's his nominal boss.
This is his Bears team more than ever, and it's bad.
There were reasonable explanations for paring talented veterans from the roster, and we have been giving Fox the benefit of many doubts due to his resume and track record. There was an understanding that it's all supposed to work.
Any time his team wants to show that it can do just one thing consistently well, that'd be great.
To what has everyone bought in?
