The Bernstein Brief: Some At Notre Dame Are Tiring Of Brian Kelly

(CBS) A coach's personality is only an issue when he's losing, and such seems to be the case again with Brian Kelly at Notre Dame.
A powerful faction there is growing increasingly tired of his "arrogance and defiance" in dealings with his bosses, sources tell 670, as he has made it clear he's not interested in what anyone else thinks. He has already been scolded for players' behavioral issues and his own sideline outbursts, but his brusque personality has been tolerated as long as the team was in College Football Playoff contention.
That's no longer the case at 2-4, and it comes as no surprise that other issues with him receive greater scrutiny once the winning stops. He was given wide latitude when he was hired, allowed to run the program as he saw fit and recruit borderline players who concerned administrators and trustees, all with the promise of on-field glory.
Because that's not happening and seems a long way off at this point, it may just be the latest pangs of buyer's remorse at a university that just finally finished paying off Charlie Weis. There are some there who have had enough of Kelly, and others are wondering if his behind-the-scenes behavior is an indication that he's had enough of Notre Dame.
