The Bernstein Brief: Bears Staff Must Be Shown Door

(CBS) Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer is understandably disappointed in the inconsistent performance of quarterback Jay Cutler, and he said so.
Receiver Brandon Marshall was aware of the NFL Network report describing such "buyer's remorse" and made it clear that he agreed.
So now, after the Chicago Tribune's dramatic report, two of the people closest to Cutler are on record with their unhappiness. Kromer is weeping in front of the team, taking blame for breaking the football omerta, while Marshall is apparently still able to do and say whatever he wants without reaction from his bosses.
This story isn't about either of these symptoms, but the overall illness that has infected Halas Hall under the nonexistent leadership of Marc Trestman.
Kromer must be fired immediately, it's clear. Even that, however, is merely reactive and temporary as more significant, systemic problems continue to be revealed. This is an untenable mess, becoming more unprofessional and out of control by the day. As one player told the Tribune, "It's one of the most (messed) up things I have ever seen."
Bears upper management and ownership has been divided about Trestman's future, with some voices pushing for change and others fearful of it.
There can't be any more questions. This can't be brought back.
