The Bernstein Brief: After Just 1 Week, NFL Is Already Crazy
By Dan Bersntein--

(CBS) As if we needed another reminder why the NFL holds dominion over our sports conversation, the first week of games has concluded with the wild world that is this league already spinning at full speed, typically overheated and bizarre.
You can't write this stuff. Not before the fact, at least.
New York is screaming about miscommunication between coach and quarterback that overthought an endgame enough to leave the Cowboys time drive for a score to beat the Giants, rookie Marcus Mariota exploded onto the scene with four passing touchdowns in the first two quarters of his career, and Peyton Manning looked like he may have stayed one season too long.
Meanwhile, a contending team in Indianapolis is threatened by reports of infighting between coach, management and ownership. Some are already arguing that Colts coach Chuck Pagano must be either extended or fired right now. Seriously.
This is after one game.
Chip Kelly is under fire in Philly after a sleepy loss Monday night, Johnny Manziel is currently the Browns' starting quarterback, the Dolphins' Ndamukong Suh is again ripping people's heads off, and the Seahawks are in crisis amid Kam Chancellor's holdout and their own 0-1 start. Adrian Peterson returned, Dez Bryant is hurt, and an official got trampled and broke nine ribs.
I guess football's back.
