The Beat Goes On
Talk about a home field advantage. With Tuesday's 11-0 win over the Mariners, the White Sox have won 9 in a row at home and 16 of their last 17. Unfortunately, they didn't gain any ground on 2nd place Minnesota as the streaking Twins again battered the Royals.
The Sox scored early and often Tuesday as their lineup continues to prosper. Alexi Ramirez had 3 more hits including a home run, Paul Konerko went deep for the 23rd time and Gordon Beckham had 2 more hits. Beckham has raised his average to .240 and definitely looks like a different hitter then earlier in the season. Gavin Floyd picked up the victory and now has an amazing 1.04 ERA over his last 10 starts.
Speaking of Beckham, he told me that Kenny Williams has assured him that he wont be traded in any deal by Saturday's deadline. Beckham's name had been mentioned in some rumors but they were all illogical and now you can put all of them to bed. That's not to say that Williams wont pull something off prior to Saturday's deadline but the guess here is that it wont be anybody off the major league roster other then maybe Daniel Hudson.
